DURAGARD
ROOFING SYSTEM
CREDENTIALS AND TESTING
Thank
you for your interest in the Duragard Roofing Systems. Young
Builders would like to offer the following for your consideration:
Young
Builders, in continuing our thirty-year tradition of customer service, has
developed the Duragard roof system, which is, by far and above, the
finest coated foamed roofing system in the industry based on quality,
proven performance and quality/quantity of proven materials (per UL
Testing, we exceed the industry standard for “cementitious topped coated
foamed roofing,” a standard which we pioneered over 20 years ago).
The Duragard roof system was designed and engineered for Arizona
and has been installed in the Southwest for over twenty years.
Though
concerted efforts with our manufactures and by utilizing premium materials
such as BASF foam insulation and United Coatings Diathon,
the Duragard coated foamed roofing system enjoys state of the art
fire resistive construction credentials unlike any other.
UL-790
Class “A” System:
Duragard
has UL-790 Class “A” classification over all types of
roof deck construction for fire resistive construction methods. The Duragard
roof system is not limited to thickness or incline restrictions, as
are most foam roofing systems. This means that installing crickets
utilizing sprayed in place polyurethane foam insulation at any slope
requirement will not affect the required UL-Class “A” Classification.
This applies to both combustible and non-combustible decking applications.
UL
Construction Numbers:
UL
Construction numbers 74, 82, 136, 181, & 206-U.S. Navy White House
Test/UL Standard 1256 (Roof Coatings Classified by Underwriters
Laboratories Inc.® as roof deck construction material with resistance to
an internal fire exposure only for use in Construction Nos. 74, 82, 136,
181 & 206).
Factory
Mutual (FM) Approvals:
Duragard
is approved as a Class 1 Insulated Steel or Concrete Deck Roof System for
new construction and as a Class 1 Re-Cover Application System when
installed over existing Class 1 built-up roofing. Approval Guild, or job
Identification NO. 2NIA3.AM.
ICBO
Approval:
The
Duragard
roof assembly is supported by ICBO in accordance with the
ICBO ES Acceptance Criteria for Membrane Roof-Covering Systems (AC75),
data dated 1997; reports of tests in accordance with UL 1256-85 (Wind
Uplift Resistance of I-180).
Fire
Resistive Design:
The
Duragard
coated foamed roofing system complies with UL Fire
Resistive Design numbers UL P-733 & UL P-826 for approved metal deck
construction and UL P-904 for approved concrete deck construction and can
achieve the designated 1, 2 or 3 hour rating.
Environment:
Certificates
from the manufacturer’s of the Duragard
system showing that the
polyurethane insulation and elastomeric coating system components are VOC
compliant and environmentally safe. The Duragard
polyurethane foam
insulating system is CFC-11 free, HCFC 141b product. The Duragard
polyurethane foam insulation is UL 723 tested and rated.
ISO
9001:

9001 – Quality Management System of Design and Manufacturer of
Polyurethane Chemicals, Specialty Systems and Thermalplastic Polyurethanes
and ISO 9002 – Manufacturer, Distribution and Servicing of Microcellular
Polyurethane Parts – Through Design by Manufacturer.
ASTM
D-6083-97a:
The
Duragard
coating system is in compliance with ASTM D-6083, which is
an all-encompassing test, developed by the American Society for Testing
and Materials for the purpose of providing a standard specification for
liquid applied acrylic coating used in roofing. The test umbrellas the
following ASTM tests that apply specifically to coated roof assemblies:
ASTM C-794, D-1079, D-16, D-1653, D-2196, D-2370, D-2697, D-471, D-4798,
